About Whitesburg, GA

Whitesburg is a town in Carroll County of Georgia. The McIntosh Reserve in Whitesburg is the former plantation of Chief William McIntosh who was a prominent leader of the Lower Towns of the Creek Confederacy. He had negotiated and signed the Treaty of Indian Springs and was executed at his home in 1825 on the order of the National Council of the Creek Nation. It is located along the Chattahoochee River in southeastern Carroll County. The community was named after A. J. White, who was a railroad official, and was incorporated in 1874.
