When you visit us at Schultz Family Dental, you get more than clean, shiny teeth.  Routine dental visits are not only a great way to prevent dental disease, they can also allow for the diagnosis of certain medical conditions that can affect the entire body.

Dr. Schultz and her team will take the time to address any concerns you may have, while also providing you with information on the health of your teeth and gums.  Your mouth is the gateway to the rest of your body, and we look forward to partnering with you to obtain and maintain optimal oral health!

What to Expect

Your comprehensive exam at Schultz Family Dental will begin with a thorough review of your dental and medical histories.  Dr. Schultz will then complete a head and neck examination to check these areas for any abnormalities.  She will also conduct an oral cancer screening—to check the health of your lips, tongue, and tissues.

A comprehensive periodontal (gum tissue) evaluation will then be completed, to check for any signs of disease.  Gum disease has been linked to several medical conditions, so maintaining healthy gums is very important to maintaining your overall health.

Low-radiation digital x-rays will be taken to check the health of your teeth and supporting bone.  X-rays allow us to see things we may not be able to detect in your mouth, as we’re evaluating your complete dental health.

Dr. Schultz will then evaluate each of your teeth to check for any cavities, to examine the condition of any previous dental treatment, and to evaluate any treatment needs—all of which will allow us to create an individualized treatment plan for you.

Exams commonly last between 45 minutes and 1 hour.  Contact us today for more information!
