Dr. Schultz uses state-of-the-art dental technology with her patients. Having completed several courses in dental photography, she uses both intraoral and extraoral cameras to aid in her diagnosis and treatment planning processes. Whether you’re looking for a brighter smile, or to repair a broken tooth, dental photography is an excellent tool that we use to visualize your teeth together, as we work towards a solution.
Digital Photography
Dr. Schultz use a digital Nikon camera, specifically designed to take pictures of the mouth and teeth. She and her team will often take a series of photos of your teeth to help in the treatment planning process, and also use this technology to take photos before and after cosmetic treatment. Patients love seeing the transformation of their smile, and digital photography allows us to do just that!
Intraoral Photography
Intraoral photographs are taken using a small, pen-size camera that can capture pictures of your teeth and gums. These pictures allow you to see what we see, which allows you to better understand your oral health, and can also help you make decisions about treatment, should the need arise.
Intraoral photography can be used to demonstrate:
- Gum disease
- Tooth decay/cavities
- Gingivitis
- Cracks in the enamel
- Abnormalities of the teeth and gums
Digital and intraoral photographs can be easily documented, stored in your electronic health record, and shared with other healthcare professionals if needed. These types of photos are also great for patient education, as they are a great way to point out parts of the teeth and mouth that may need attention. For more information, contact us today!
